Meet Mary
Home Care Scheduler, community collaborator, active volunteer, dedicated parent, food grower, dancer, and poet.
I love living on the Sunshine Coast. I was drawn here by the amazing community, rural living, and easy access to the fantastic forests and ocean. I connect with all ages, experiences, and needs through my career, volunteering, and life as a dedicated parent.
I have worked in Health Care administration for over 15 years, currently as a Scheduler arranging in-home care for seniors and other clients. My previous 25-year career was in media and publishing, including print and social media services and operating the small local publication BootTales.
I am known for committed coast-wide collaboration and advocacy, working with organizations including the One Straw Society, Sunshine Coast Labour Council, and Dakota Ridge Nordics.
I enjoy supporting our thriving arts and culture scene as a patron, poet, and dancer. I grew up farming, continue to be a food grower, and use permaculture principles to examine and enhance systems of nurturing, from the seeds in my garden to how our community flourishes.
“I will bring the strength of this background to work for the people of Sechelt in the role of Councillor.”
